The Tide project is full of exciting new developments! Concrete actions are taking shape, starting with a meeting between young people from the Lambesc Rural Family Training Center (MFR) and the Pertuis Local Mission at the Zimzam big top . These workshops included adapted circus arts with young people with autism, writing workshops on empowerment led by a trainer with a disability, and confidence-building games. This provided an opportunity for participants to explore the topic of difference through discussion and to deconstruct many preconceived notions in a safe, supportive, and authentic environment. The afternoon was dedicated to sharing their perspectives on gender stereotypes. This format follows nine other workshops in Provence designed to help young people become more comfortable speaking up, taking ownership of their voices on a wide range of topics, and expressing what matters to them.
Ronan – a Tide! facilitator in Provence – accompanied by Sylvain – president of the JAIM association – was a guest on SqoolTV, which dedicated an interview to the project in their magazine program. Take a few minutes to listen to the show, which notably discusses facilitation using the collective intelligence method 1+1=3, the most common themes in youth exchanges, the painstaking work involved in reaching these underserved young people, the skills of a good facilitator, and the development of young people's soft skills.
The challenge remains unchanged: to make visible what is possible to seize its power to act, decision-makers and institutions need the voice of young people.
