RECOGREEN: an innovative initiative for sustainable training in Europe

The RECOGREEN project, funded under the Erasmus+ programme (KA220-VET), marks a significant step forward in vocational training with a focus on development of rural areas and the integration of the skills necessary for green and digital transitions. Led by a consortium of European partners, this project aims to develop innovative educational resources to promote the adoption of sustainable practices and strengthen thematching training and employment. It also lays the foundations for the structuring of ecosystems of training actors, by integrating new forms of skills recognition, such as micro-certifications.

Faced with growing environmental and technological challenges, the RECOGREEN project aims to transform vocational training by integrating essential skills for the adaptation of rural areas. Thanks to digital tools and interactive training modules, learners will have access to content adapted to the requirements of tomorrow's job market. The training courses developed within the framework of RECOGREEN will cover a wide variety of professional sectors, ranging from sustainable agriculture (chestnuts, truffles) to renewable energies (geothermal energy), including services and new professions linked to the ecological and digital transition.

The RECOGREEN project aims to:

  • Develop a skills framework for rural professions, based on sustainable development and digital technology;
  • Create innovative educational resources, accessible to trainers and learners;
  • Promote collaborations between educational establishments and businesses, in order to strengthen the integration of sustainable and digital practices;
  • Explore new forms of skills recognition, particularly through micro-certifications, to promote employability and professional mobility;
  • Strengthen the capacities of local actors in monitoring and evaluating change, in order to optimize the impact of training and improve the management of territorial transitions.

The RECOGREEN project is based on a network of European partners with varied and complementary expertise:

  • National Union of Rural Family Homes (France): Project coordinator, specialist in work-study programs and integration in rural areas, involved in educational innovation.
