“Hello from Estonia! I am Triin Kallas, representing the Union of Estonian Leaders in the project. VET4Change is a new Erasmus + cooperation project which aims to raise awareness of the role of vocational training for local and rural development. Are VET institutions involved in decisions about the future of the region? How can lifelong learning help shape the region's goals and strategies? Can we find ways to better value educational institutions in local politics? These are the questions we are addressing. The network has already been working together for 2 years; they had no Estonian partners until now, but we are happy to join them now. Thank you ! »TRIINN KALLAS

IFOCAP

Founded in 1959, IFOCAP was created by activist farmers, notably Michel Debatisse and Eugène Forget, to support farmers who take responsibility in their professional organizations.

Since then, generations have followed one another to complete their initial training and train themselves in the exercise of their responsibilities: young farmers who have recently been hired, experienced administrators working in unionism, mutualism or cooperation, etc.

“We joined this program to be able to involve farmers with political responsibilities (rural representatives). They are trained in IFOCAP in a program called OMEGA. At the end of a day, we feel a great openness to social and economic exchanges and Kanwlegde as well as an interest in cultural diversity. This will empower representatives of farms and contribute to rural development. Thank you »FRANCINE

The institute now also welcomes employees of professional organizations or agricultural education and actors from the rural world.Association law 1901, IFOCAP is approved by the Ministry of Agriculture for collective promotion, and the Ministry of Work and Employment as part of continuing vocational training.

Four fundamental missions

  • Training, individual and collective, to help participants better understand their environment, strengthen their analytical capacity, and facilitate their decision-making and action;
  • Support for organizations or teams in their strategic thinking, according to a tailor-made program, with possible monitoring of its operational implementation;
  • Research through an "observatory of the skills of actors in the agricultural and rural world" with the animation of thematic projects to which experts and partners contribute, and the piloting of experimental programs of innovative training;

The project focuses on the link between vocational education and rural development. As a vocational school that operates in a rural area, we find it very important that vocational training is recognized as part of the challenges of regional development. We therefore see this project as an opportunity to get involved in local reflection on regional development as well as an opportunity to establish a formal link between the school and local actors who deal with issues related to the development of the region. Thank you! »FABIENNE & DANIEL

Inter-Mondes, Belgium

“Inter-Mondes” is one of the first Belgian associations to have been created in 1996 by and for actors from both the South and the North. Initially designed above all to make known in Europe the wealth of popular dynamics initiated in the South, it has gradually redeployed its activities to support all forms of calls and interconnection in the North as well as in the South:

  • knowledge (academic and popular);
  • practical (public, private);
  • cultures (traditional, modern, professional, etc.);
  • people (West African space and Europe);

in a perspective of political change: transform the current society of individuals into a society which re-establishes the Collective, the others and the other as the business of each and every one.

The word Inter-Mondes affirms its rejection of the idea of a “south” which would only be exploited and victimized for a more shared and united vision of the causes of the problems as well as of their solutions. It stands out as well as the concept of "Third Worlds". It interests people from the world of development, the social economy, banks, businesses, politics, universities… and seeks to build bridges between these worlds.
