The network of Rural Family Homes (MFR) and its European partners – LAG Porolissum (Romania), LAG Piiriveere Liider (Estonia), VMA – Verkmenntaskólinn in Akureyri (Iceland) – invite all curious minds, rural stakeholders, engaged youth and educators to an exceptional live event on YouTube: the first “CONNECT-R Live", a moment of exchange between young rural people from Europe around the theme of participation and empowerment.
Project CONNECT-RCoordinated by the National Union of Rural Family Homes (MFR) within the framework of the Erasmus+ program (KA154 – Youth Participation), this initiative brings together partner organizations in France, Estonia, Romania, and Iceland. Its ambition? To strengthen the participation of young rural people in European democratic life and empower them to...express their ideas, their needs and their proposals for the future of their territories.
The CONNECT-R project is part of the European dynamic of Dialogue between the European Union and young people, supported in France by the system ProvoxIt draws directly on the values of popular education and active citizenship that have underpinned the MFR movement for over 80 years.
On November 12, each partner country will present a local initiative led by and for young people, featuring testimonials, discussions, and proposals from the field. Presentations will be given by youth ambassadors, trained in their local Rural Family Homes (MFRs) or partner organizations, who will share their experiences of active citizenship and their initial reflections on European rural advocacy.
This live event is a preparatory step for the European meeting on May 12 & 13, 2026 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where the young delegates will meet to collectively build their European plea for rural youthThe live broadcast on November 12 will thus be a first opportunity to give a voice to this new, engaged generation, in a participatory and intercultural format.
